although we should be forgiving in our heart we may not be able to express that forgiveness to the other party if he (or she) is not repentant. This is so with God. He does not reckon to the world their offences (2 Corinthians 5:19), but there has to be repentance on the side of the sinner. He has to be reconciled to God (verse 20). We should not confuse the bearing of grudges with the actual expression of forgiveness to one who is genuinely sorry for a sin he has committed.
