In these Old Testament miracles judgement is at least as prominent as miracles of healing and other beneficial works of power. Dealing with enemies resulted in many miraculous happenings as when Joshua was able to stop the Sun and Moon in their apparent heavenly movements (Joshua 10:12/15). God intervened to save Daniel and his friends from the fire and lions. This was God's direct action rather than miracles performed through the instrumentality of man. Angels were involved (Daniel 3 and 6). |

What we have in the Old Testament in the way of plagues will be repeated in the end times as we learn from Revelation 11:6 where the two witnesses had power to smite the earth as often as they will with every plague. The two specific things mentioned: "no rain" and "waters turned to blood", remind us of what Elijah and Moses did. |
